The Avett Brothers Share ‘No Hard Feelings’ Recording Session From ‘May It Last’ Documentary

A documentary about The Avett Brothers from longtime fans Judd Apatow and Michael Bonfilglio recently made its television premiere on HBO and is currently available for viewing both on-demand and through the channel’s apps. The Avett Brothers have just shared a video from May It Last: A Portrait Of The Avett Brothers that finds the group recording “No Hard Feelings.”
The band gave the filmmakers extraordinary access for more than two years including during the recording of The Avett Brothers’ collaboration with Rick Rubin on the multi-Grammy-nominated 2016 album True Sadness. Apatow and Bonfiglio use the recording of the LP as a backdrop to chart The Avett Brothers’ rise from a ragtag crew of “self-centered hillbillies” performing in front of hundreds to a group that headlined Madison Square Garden and festivals across the country.
