Watch The Avett Brothers Kick Off Avetts At The Beach 2024 With New Song Debuts

The Avett Brothers’ annual destination event The Avett Brothers At The Beach is underway at the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Tuesday’s opening night performance featured the live premieres of two recently released singles.

The Avett Brothers are set to release a new self-titled album on May 17, which will be the first album in five years from the group led by siblings Seth Avett and Scott Avett. The Rick Rubin-produced The Avett Brothers includes the singles “Love Of A Girl” and “Country Kid.” The pair of new songs made their live debuts during last night’s Avetts At The Beach opening set.

Night one’s setlist was also highlighted by the inclusion of “Beside The Yellow Line,” an original song last played more than 1,500 shows prior in 2006 and performed as the interlude to “Pretty Girl From Annapolis.” The bust out was performed by just Seth Avett on guitar, Scott Avett on banjo and Bob Crawford on upright bass.

The Avett Brothers will perform two more times at The Avett Brothers At The Beach 2024. Other performers at the destination event include Lord Huron, Gregory Alan Isakov, Charley Crockett, Sierra Ferrell, Deer Tick, Langhorne Slim, Heartless Bastards and the brothers’ father Jim Avett.
