The Avett Brothers Cover Bob Dylan’s ‘Tangled Up In Blue’

Last month, Americana act The Avett Brothers covered Bob Dylan’s “Tangled Up In Blue” at Musikfest in Bethlehem, which according to Setlist.FM was the first time the group had played the song. On Friday night The Avett Brothers brought their tour in support of True Sadness to Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, California where they performed the Dylan cover once again.
Bob Dylan recorded “Tangled Up In Blue” for his 1975 album Blood On The Tracks. The song has since been covered by an impressive array of artists that includes the Jerry Garcia Band, The String Cheese Incident, Ani DiFranco, Indigo Girls and The Byrds. “Tangled Up In Blue” now joins “Just Like A Woman,” “Diamond Joe,” “Forever Young” and “The Man In Me” among Dylan tunes The Avetts have played live.
