On Monday, May 15 the Lefont Film Society will host a screening of two films featuring the late Col. Bruce Hampton at Lefont Theaters’ Roswell Road location in Atlanta. The event has been dubbed A Movies & Music Big Screen Celebration Of Life And Tribute To Col. Bruce Hampton.
Monday’s event will start with a screening of filmmaker Michael Koepenick’s Basically Frightened, a 2012 documentary about the life and times of the Colonel. Hampton also stars in the evening’s second film, Phish bassist Mike Gordon’s 2000 feature Outside Out. The movie mocks instructional videos that aim to teach budding musicians the craft. A Q&A with Koepenick will be held after the screenings.
In typical Col. Bruce Hampton fashion the screening has the odd start time of 7:06 p.m. and tickets are up for sale at $14.46. Tickets for the event are available via Eventbrite.
