Today, guitar prodigy Asher Belsky released a new single entitled “Reason.” JamBase is pleased to premiere a video for the track put together by the 16-year-old musician’s brother, Jonah Belsky.

“I wrote ‘Reason’ at the beginning of the pandemic. To me, it’s about the feelings of being a teenager and learning to grow from them,” Asher told JamBase. “This song was my way of saying to myself that I was ready to find my own personality and not just act like my peers around me as most people my age do.”

Asher recorded “Reason” in Los Angeles with Gov’t Mule’s Jorgen Carlsson, who plays bass on and produced the song. Other contributors include longtime Jackson Browne keyboardist Jeff Young and Robben Ford’s drummer, Toss Panos.

“Reason” arrives shortly before Asher Belsky’s first headline show. Belsky tops the bill at the Sebastiani Theatre in Sonoma, California on September 25. Carly Thomas opens the evening. Tickets are available here.
