While Dead & Company/Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart is best known for his music, a different side of his artistry will be on display in Atlanta. Hart’s artwork will be presented at the Wentworth Gallery in Atlanta with an opening scheduled for Monday evening.

Wentworth Atlanta will host the free The Art Of Mickey Hart gallery opening on Monday, June 12 from 6 – 9 p.m. While the event is free to the public, RSVP’s are strongly suggested by calling 404-233-0903. A number of giveaways are planned including tickets to the Atlanta D&C show on Tuesday plus autographed Mickey Hart books and drum heads.

“These visual representations from my sonic driven world are snapshots into the music I am making. The basis of all life is vibratory, from the cosmos to human organism, to the rhythms of nature and the music that comes from what we make, from what we call culture. These are the worlds of rhythm that envelop us on a daily basis. Understanding these rhythms are essential in our daily lives,” said Hart in a statement announcing the opening. Mickey will not appear at the event. Wentworth will donate some of the proceeds to charitable endeavors benefiting the Atlanta community.
