In the late ’80s and early ’90s a venue called Arrowhead Ranch located in Parksville, New York hosted performances from many of the bands that went on to form the H.O.R.D.E. tour and other jam-related acts. The famed venue, which was formerly booked by Bill Graham’s children, will soon come back to life and is expected to host music events and workshops once more.

As pointed out by Relix, “The 70-acre Arrowhead Ranch was purchased by a team of investors from the Northeast led by festival promoter and real estate investor Rose Barnett, and the plans for the space include a hotel and retreat with condos, a ballroom, pub and restaurant, spa, museum, outdoor space and non-profit horse rescue offering trail rides.” Barnett attended shows at the venue in the late ’80s and early ’90s and aims to “bring joy” to musiclovers.

The ranch was purchased by Kenny and Michelle Hoff. Blues Traveler discovered the venue in the early ’90s and decided to use Arrowhead as a home venue of sorts. David Graham renovated the ranch in time to become “the center of the jamband world” in 1991. Phish, Widespread Panic, Hot Tuna, The Band and New Riders Of The Purple Sage were among the acts to join Blues Traveler in performing at Arrowhead Ranch that year. Sadly, the ranch has mostly been abandoned since Bill Graham’s tragic death in October of 1991.
