Aqueous Plays Superhero Themed Halloween Show In Pittsburgh
By Nate Todd Nov 1, 2019 • 12:04 pm PDT
Aqueous played Pittsburgh for Halloween. The Buffalo-bred band got down at The Rex Theater, where they treated fans to two superhero sets, dressed to match, and welcomed the Steeltown Horns. They also delivered a tribute to Huey Lewis And The News and much more.
Aqueous kicked things off fittingly with “The Power Rangers Theme” followed by a Spiderman reference within “Random Company.” The first set also included a debut of The Rolling Stones’ “Beast Of Burden” and came to a close with a “Batman Theme” tease-filled “Kitty Chaser (Explosions).”
A cover of Goldfinger’s “Superman” got the second set underway with the Steeltown Horns. The set also featured Aqueous debuts of “Kung Fu Fighting,” the “Batman Theme” as well as the quartet’s debut version of David Bowie’s “Heroes” in the middle of their own “Eon Don,” among other superhero-themed jams. Aqueous re-emerged for the bust out encore of “Power of Love,” a Huey Lewis & The News cover last played by the band at the 2018 Peach Music Festival.
