Aoife O’Donovan shared a cover of the Lin-Manuel Miranda-penned “What Else Can I Do?” from the soundtrack to Disney’s Encanto. Available via Bandcamp, all proceeds from O’Donovan’s “What Else Can I Do?” will benefit Mi Familia Vota.
Aoife O’Donovan’s cover of “What Else Can I Do?” comes on the heels of her 2022 album Age Of Apathy. The singer-songwriter enlisted the help of cellist Eric Jacobsen and Dawes drummer Griffin Goldsmith for the Encanto cover.
Aoife detailed her version of “What Else Can I Do?” in a press release:
Like so many people, I spent the entire month of January with the Encanto soundtrack on repeat. I’ve been a fan of Lin-Manuel Miranda for many years, and this new collection of songs just wove themselves into my head in a way that I loved. After singing along to Isabella’s song a million times and falling in love with the nature filled lyrics, I decided to work up a little acoustic version. ‘What Else Can I Do?’ features Eric Jacobsen on cello and Griffin Goldsmith on drums.
