Singer-songwriter Ani DiFranco joined forces with Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard for the new song “Disorders.” Proceeds from the charity single, which aims to raise awareness of women’s reproductive rights, will go towards the National Network of Abortion Funds. The organization’s mission is to build “power with members to remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion access by centering people who have abortions and organizing at the intersections of racial, economic and reproductive justice.”

“Disorders” also features saxophonist Skerik and Galactic drummer Stanton Moore as well as Josh Evans. The song dates back six years when Gossard prepped a demo of the track with Skerik. Stone then decided to bring DiFranco aboard to complete the tune. “Ani’s fierce melodic independence and her visceral in-the-moment vocal performance took this track to a much higher plane,” explained Stone Gossard in a statement. “I’m thrilled to have been part of this song and to have had the chance to collaborate with this incredible group of artists.”

“What showed up was a killer track with an evocative guitar hook, a shape, a vibe, a bombastic balls-to-the-wall outro,” added DiFranco. “I marveled that anyone could record a song that sounded so cohesive and fully realized with no melody or lyric to guide it. I felt instantly inspired and honored. I was invited to sing about whatever I wanted.”
