Andrew Bird delivered a haunting rendition of Townes Van Zandt‘s “If I Needed You” last night on Late Show with David Letterman, accompanied by Tift Merritt and Alan Hampton. Due to Hurricane Sandy, both Letterman and Jimmy Fallon taped their shows without a live studio audience. Watch the video below.
