Amy Helm, Nicki Bluhm & More To Perform At Concert Celebrating Pioneering Women of Country, Blues & Folk

An all-star benefit “Tribute Concert Celebrating Pioneering Women of Country, Blues and Folk” will be held on May 9 at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York. The event benefiting the Americana Music Association will feature an impressive collective of musicians honoring the likes of such legendary singer-songwriters as Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Bessie Smith, Carole King, Mahalia Jackson, Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris and others.
Josh Kaufman will serve as musical director of the concert featuring Amy Helm, Nicki Bluhm, Cassandra Jenkins, Courtney Marie Andrews, Deva Mahal, Elizabeth & The Catapult, Jade Bird, The Suffers’ Kam Franklin, The Lone Bellow’s Kanene Pipkin, Lola Kirke, Vera Sola, The Hold Steady’s Craig Finn and The Barr Brothers. Additional performers are expected to be announced in the future.
The event utilizing the support of Change The Conversation is being produced by Jesse Lauter, along with Hannah Gold of City Winery/Luck Reunion and Drew Thurlow of Sony Masterworks. Lola Kirke from Mozart in the Jungle will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
Tickets, all proceeds of which will benefit the Americana Music Association, will be made available exclusively to members of the Americana Music Association during a presale starting at 9 a.m. ET on Thursday, April 5.
