Multi-talented artist Amber Martin confirmed a new album, Unbreakable Heart, arriving on November 15. The singer-songwriter/actress also shared the single, “I Want You To Be A Real Man,” featuring Rufus Wainwright.
Unbreakable Heart marks Martin’s first studio album since her 2016 debut solo album, A.M. Gold. Martin tapped the aforementioned collaborators to work with her on Unbreakable Heart, which Amber produced with the help of Grammy and Tony-nominated engineer/musical director Justin Craig. Martin co-wrote songs on the album with John Cameron Mitchell and Scissor Sisters’ Jake Spears, who both add vocals to their respective cuts.
Unbreakable Heart sees Martin returning to her country roots growing up in Southeast Texas.
“The songs are about traveling, moving on, coming home, and finding the right people to surround yourself with, and the sound is all classic country,” Martin stated. “My objective with this whole album is to get ‘em dancing!’”
“Every song on Unbreakable Heart is a standalone in its uniqueness,” she continued. “No two songs are alike. It’s brightened by the fine musicianship of some truly talented Texas musicians and collaborators in New York City. Everyone involved in this album, whether as writer, backing vocals singer or musician is a dear friend and ‘family’ member. It’s truly a love letter.”
Unbreakable Heart lead single, “I Want You To Be A Real Man,” was written by Rufus Wainwright and also sees vocal contributions from the renowned singer-songwriter. Watch the music video for “I Want You To Be A Real Man” below:
