Amanda Shires Performs In-Studio Set For The Bridge 909

Singer-songwriter Amanda Shires recently stopped by Studio A at KCPT in Kansas City, Missouri to record a session for radio station 90.9 The Bridge. Amanda chatted with host Jon Hart and led her band through three songs from the 2018 studio album To The Sunset ahead of a show at Knuckleheads on September 5.

Shires’ band includes former Gregg Allman Band and God Street Wine keyboardist Peter Levin, bassist Macey Taylor and guitarists Zack Setchfield and Seth Plemmons. First, Amanda discussed her career and time in Kansas City with Hart. She then performed “Eve’s Daughter” and went on to talk about the genesis of some of her songs. The Nashville-based artist also talked about her relationship with John Prine and led takes on “Swimmer” and “Leave It Alone.” Watch video of Amanda Shires full The Bridge 909 session below:
