Amanda Shires Streams New Album ‘To The Sunset’

Amanda Shires will issue a new solo album To The Sunset on August 3 via Silver Knife/Thirty Tigers. The singer-songwriter’s fifth solo record can be streamed in advance of its official release via NPR Music’s First Listen series.
Shires worked with producer Dave Cobb at the historic RCA Studio A in her current hometown of Nashville while recording the 10-track LP. Cobb previously produced Shires’ previous solo release, 2016’s My Piece Of Land, and contributed bass on To The Sunset. Additional personnel appearing on the new album includes Shires’ husband Jason Isbell on guitar, Peter Levin on keyboards and Jerry Pentecost on drums.
Shires recorded To The Sunset in her current hometown of Nashville at the famed RCA Studio A. The record marks the second Shires album made with producer Dave Cobb, including her most recent full length, 2016’s My Piece Of Land. Shires provided lead vocals and fiddle while her husband, Jason Isbell, contributed guitar on To The Sunset. Additional instrumentation was provided by Cobb on bass, Peter Levin on keyboards and Jerry Pentecost on drums.

The new album is said to represent “an adventurous move with an edgier sound and attitude” in which “Shires continues to push herself artistically and sonically.” Stream To The Sunset via the link to NPR Music below:
