On August 3, singer-songwriter Amanda Shires will release her fifth solo To The Sunset via Silver Knife/Thirty Tigers. The 10-track effort was produced by Dave Cobb and recorded in her current hometown of Nashville at the famed RCA Studio A. The album, which is said to feature everything from Americana to hard rock and pop-leaning songs, includes contributions from her husband Jason Isbell along with additional instrumentation from Cobb on bass, Peter Levin on keyboards and Jerry Pentecost on drums.
In advance of the album’s release Shires has shared the lo-fi music video for “Parking Lot Pirouette,” the lead track from To The Sunset. Shires spoke with with Billboard about the homemade clip, sharing “I made this video on my phone and I’m proud of it. My intention was to make something that matched what I saw in my head when I wrote the song. Really it’s a look through memories.”
