Last night renowned singer-songwriter John Prine held a concert at Ulster Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The concert featured special guests and frequent collaborators Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires sitting-in on several songs.
Prine and the wife/husband duo of Shires and Isbell are all current Nashville residents. Prine and his Ireland-born wife also have a home in Galway and he regularly performs in Ireland and Northern Ireland, including the current run of shows that also features stops elsewhere around Europe.
Shires is on board for the tour as an opening act and she and Isbell came out mid-set to join Prine on his “Storm Windows,” “In Spite Of Ourselves” and “Unwed Fathers.” The duo also came out at the end of the set for “Lake Marie” and they were present for the encore performance of Prine’s beloved “Paradise.”
