ALO Honors Neal Casal At Terrapin Crossroads

ALO‘s afternoon Labor Day concert at Terrapin Crossroads’ outdoor stage featured a first set tribute to Neal Casal, who recently died a the age of 50. The band also welcomed special guests Jason Crosby and Stu Allen for separate sit-ins in the second set.

A few songs into the first set, ALO guitarist Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz told the gathered audience that the band was dedicating the next one to their “brother Neal.” Lebo then led the group through a touching performance of “Terry’s Song,” which Bruce Springsteen wrote after the death of his longtime friend Terry Magovern and recorded on his 2007 album Magic.

The second set saw ALO bring out The Terrapin Family Band’s Jason Crosby on fiddle for “Shapeshifter.” Later, guitarist and TXR regular Stu Allen emerged to sit-in with ALO on “Plastic Bubble.” Watch ALO’s Labor Day show at Terrapin Crossroads via Deadheadland’s videos below:
