Allison Russell served as the musical guest on Wednesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Russell performed “4th Day Prayer” backed by a six-piece ensemble.

“4th Day Prayer” appears on Outside Child, the Montreal-bred musician’s Grammy-nominated debut solo album. Russell was joined on Kimmel by a string section featuring SistaStrings and MZTZA, drummer Elizabeth Goodfellow as well as guitarists Joy Clark and Mandy Ferrarini.

Allison Russell visited the show in person this time around after making her Kimmel debut last May with a remote performance of Outside Child single “Nightflyer” featuring Brandi Carlile and Brittney Spencer. Outside Child is nominated for Best Americana Album at the upcoming 64th annual Grammy Awards, while “Nightflyer” is nominated in both the Best American Roots Song and Best American Roots Performance categories.
