Air and Phoenix’s Thomas Mars recently performed their collaborative song “Playground Love” live in concert for the first time in 20 years. The French musicians came together at a recent event held at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.
“Terminal 1 – Le meilleur de la French Touch” took place on July 17 on the rooftop of Terminal 1 at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. Along with sets by Air and Phoenix, the lineup included Étienne de Crécy, Izzy Lindqwister and others.

Air (Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel) originally recruited Thomas Mars to contribute to “Playground Love” for its inclusion on the soundtrack to Sofia Coppola’s 1999 directorial debut, The Virgin Suicides, which was produced by Air. Mars last performed the song with Air on multiple occasions in 2004.
