Actor Adam Goldberg Details New The Goldberg Sisters Album & Shares Single

Actor Adam Goldberg’s musical project, The Goldberg Sisters, returns with a new album, When The Ships Of My Dreams Return, set for arrival on February 20. Goldberg shared the record’s latest single, “The Great Resignation.”

Goldberg’s first full-length release since 2018’s Home: A Nice Place to Visit, the 12-track When The Ships Of My Dreams Return contains the prior issued single, “Our Kind of Love.” The upcoming LP marked Goldberg’s first album recorded, performed and mixed entirely on his own.

Inspired by the exodus of people moving from urban metro to suburban areas during the COVID pandemic, “The Great Resignation” sees Golberg accompanied by vocalists Abigail Chapin and Lily Chapin of The Chapin Sisters. Goldberg, whose film and television credits include Saving Private Ryan, Dazed And Confused, Friends, Entourage and others, described “The Great Resignation,” stating:

“This is one of those rare songs wherein the idea for the song came to me before any of the musical elements. While our fleeing from Los Angeles to the Hudson Valley in New York, where my wife grew up, was more a byproduct of my work, we did opt for living outside of the city in part because of COVID and because I may have overidealized the concept of a simpler life. What I didn’t expect was the culture clash that awaited us in our particular neck of the woods.

“It seemed fitting to ask our friends Abigail and Lily Chapin of The Chapin Sisters who also moved back to their hometown, to add some vocals. It was Lily, in fact, whose house and incredible vintage recording studio we visited years before we had any inkling about leaving L.A., that got me thinking: Hmm…”
