Adam Deitch’s Nitecap Looks For ‘Love & Light’ With Nigel Hall

Nitecap, the electro-soul supergroup led by Lettuce drummer Adam Deitch, released a new single, “Love and Light,” featuring vocals from Deitch’s Lettuce bandmate Nigel Hall. The track is set to land on Nitecap’s forthcoming debut album, slated for an early 2025 release via Perception Records.

Nitecap — which also includes Josh Fairman (SunSquabi) as well as Ian Gilley and Drew Birch (both of Diastrata, Flamingosis Live Band) — have previously shared album singles “Things Of That Nature” and “Plátanos.”

The latest offering, “Love and Light,” “speaks to our collective, often-untapped power to make the world a better place if we band together and channels transformative, relentless optimism through Hall’s lens as a Black man living in an unjust world,” as per a press release.

“This song is a reflection of the conversations we’ve had about the world and our combined worldview, Nigel’s lens as a Black man living in a world that still is unjust and cruel almost 40 years after MLK’s assassination, and my relentless optimism,” “Love and Light” lyricist Andriu Yanovski stated. “I’ve gotten to know him well as a musician and as a friend and his perspective on life combined with his insane singing abilities leave a huge canvas for writing.”

“‘Love and Light’ is really a meaningful song for me, it captures a vibe and a message that’s more important than ever, especially in the climate that the United States is in right now,” Nitecap’s Josh Fairman added. “Division is running rampant, and it’s up to us, the people, to come together to make the world we want to see. It’s hard to be positive in lieu of all the darkness we see. Hopefully this song can be a little bit of that light that leads the way.”

“Love and light will always lead the way, if we lead with it,” Hall shared on the inspiration behind the collaboration.
