Legendary singer-songwriter Bob Dylan celebrated his 80th birthday last week. The Duluth, Minnesota native has amassed among the most impressive and revered bodies of work, creating an unparalleled catalog of original songs.

Among his accomplishments include receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom and induction into Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. Dylan’s songs also earned special recognition from the Pulitzer Prize Board, and in 2016 he was given the prestigious honor of the Nobel Prize In Literature, “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.”

Dylan’s songs have been, and will continue to be, played everywhere from bedrooms to the biggest stages around the world. Such has been the case since the 1960s when Dylan’s contemporaries started performing his songs both in concert and in the studio. In the decades that followed, more and more musicians looked to Dylan for inspiration, using his songs to help find voices of their own.

This edition of Saturday Stream presents a Spotify Playlist capturing covers of 80 different songs written by Bob Dylan. Included are well-known covers like Jimi Hendrix’s blistering version of “All Along The Watchtower,” George Harrison’s piercing “Isn’t It A Pity” and The Byrds shimmering take on “Mr. Tambourine Man,” alongside others of varying degrees of familiarity.
