Trombone Shorty, Karl Denson & More Aboard For ‘504LIFE’ Livestream Telethon Event

Trombone Shorty, Karl Denson, Ivan Neville, Jon Batiste and Rebirth Brass Band are among the musicians taking part in the second installment of the 504LIFE livestream telethon event. 504LIFE — which will “celebrate New Orleans’ resilience and raise funds to purchase PPE for the city’s doctors, nurses, and first responders” — starts tonight, Monday, May 4 at 5:04 p.m. CT via YouTube, Facebook, Twitch and the JamBase Livestreams Calendar.

Amanda Shaw and Big Chief Fiyo of the Hard Head Hunters will serve as hosts of the event. Mayor LaToya Cantrell, James Carville, Peyton, Eli, Cooper and Archie Manning, Nicole Kidman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mannie Fresh, Craig Robinson, Matthew McConaughey, Juvenile, Lt. General Russel Honore, Baron Davis, George Porter Jr., Ani DiFranco, Wendell Pierce, Brandan “BMIKE” Odums, Eddie Redmayne, Octavia Spencer, Big Freedia, Katey Red, Tank & The Bangas, Louis Michot of The Lost Bayou Ramblers, Harry Shearer & David Silverman of The Simpsons, Judith Owen and Trumpet Mafia round out the list of those confirmed to participate in tonight’s livestream telethon.

The first 504LIFE livestream telethon event was held on April 11. This evening’s livestream is expected to run for five hours and four minutes with programming set to include live music, commentary, celebrity PSAs and “very special only in New Orleans moments.” Proceeds will go towards 504HealthNet and the City of New Orleans.
