4K High Definition Video: Joe Russo’s Almost Dead Brooklyn Bowl Run Opener Acoustic Set
By Andy Kahn Oct 19, 2016 • 8:00 am PDT
Earlier this month, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead held a three-night stand at Brooklyn Bowl in New York City. The first two nights of the Fall Ball II run saw JRAD perform acoustically on a mini stage built over the venue’s bowling lanes and high definition video of the opening night’s “unplugged” segment has recently surfaced.
Drummer Joe Russo, (upright) bassist Dave Dreiwitz, guitarists Tom Hamilton and Scott Metzger and pianist/accordionist Marco Benevento played a four song set on Thursday, October 6. The Grateful Dead tribute act offered stripped down takes on “Candyman,” “It Must Have Been The Roses” and “Uncle John’s Band.” The acoustic portion of the show also featured the debut JRAD rendition of “The Race Is On.”
Videographer LazyLightning55 captured the four song acoustic set and paired it with soundboard matrix audio recorded by Peter Costello and Eric McRoberts. Watch JRAD in action at Brooklyn Bowl here:
