311 presented their biggest and most immersive 311 Day yet this past weekend in Las Vegas. The quintet enlisted Sin City icons Blue Man Group for special collaborations on Friday (March 7) at the first of two 311 Day Weekend performances at Dolby Live at Park MGM.
This year’s celebration came early as the band wanted to take over Las Vegas for a full weekend. In addition to the concerts, 311 also presented their first-ever 311 museum experience featuring memorabilia from their 38-year career.
Each 311 Day Weekend show promised a completely different setlist, with no repeats played during the two-night stand. Friday saw the band pull songs from 10 of their 14 full-length studio albums. The first big surprise of the weekend came halfway during the second set on Friday, when SA Martinez delivered a solo acoustic performance of “Getting Through To Her,” a song last played in 2020.
Members of performance art company Blue Man Group emerged at the start of the encore to dance and play drums and percussion with 311 on old favorites “Do You Right” and “Don’t Stay Home.” Blue Man Group returned a few songs later to shoot streamers into the crowd during the show-closing “Livin’ & Rockin’.”
