20th Annual Gathering Of The Vibes Begins In Bridgeport

The collaborative spirit nurtured over the past two decades was on full display Friday at the 20th annual Gathering of the Vibes in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Friday’s lineup included performances by Twiddle, The Word, David Gans, Tea Leaf Green, Electron, Oktopus and others. Among the Vibes collaborations included Tedeschi Trucks Band welcoming their The Wheels of Soul tourmates Sharon Jones & The Dap- Kings and Doyle Bramhall II (who each also performed sets) to the stage for a sit-in, Gregg Allman bringing up his former The Allman Brothers Band mates Derek Trucks and Jaimoe for a ripping performance of “Southbound” and The String Cheese Incident’s “Old & In The Way” first set that featured guests David Grisman, Peter Rowan and Chris Pandolfi playing many bluegrass staples and other covers.
