Phish bassist Mike Gordon has long utilized new technologies in various forms both on and off stage to engage with fans. Back in the 1990s he participated in AOL Phish Bowl chats, his hotline became a thing of legend among fans, and most recently he’s incorporated an interactive instrument for fans to play along with his solo band during live shows. There have been plenty of other efforts made by Mike to engage with fans, and his Twitter account @mike_gordon has become a direct line to Cactus.



As he gears up for an upcoming run of dates with his solo band, his Twitter account so far has been offering behind-the-scenes looks at how the band has been been preparing. Always the early adopter, last weekend Gordon streamed via the Twitter owned Periscope app a brief portion of his practice with bandmates guitarist Scott Murawski, percussionist Craig Myers, keyboardist Robert Walter and drummer John Kimock. Stayed tuned to see if more sessions are tweeted out.
