Setlists & Video | Dean Ween Group Concludes Ween Minus Run

Between Thursday and Saturday guitarist Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo presented three special Dean Ween Group shows featuring 4/5ths of Ween’s longtime touring band focusing on tunes from Ween’s extensive repertoire. Deaner rounded up his former Ween band mates Dave Dreiwitz, Glenn McClelland and Claude Coleman Jr. as well as guitarist Scott Rednor for performances in Charlotte (Thursday), Atlanta (Friday) and Asheville (Saturday).

“Ween Minus” played over 30 different Ween songs over the course of the run spanning every era of the band’s career as well as “Garry” from his Dean Ween Group project. The band was joined by special guest R Scott Murray on pedal steel guitar for “Pandy Fackler,” “Piss Up A Rope” and “The Rift” on Saturday night at Asheville’s Grey Eagle. Deaner’s ensemble also worked a cover of The Carpenters’ “Superstar” into Saturday night’s set, the lone cover they’d play.
