On Saturday morning tickets to Fare Thee Well, a celebration of 50 years of Grateful Dead shows at Soldier Field in Chicago this Fourth of July weekend, go on sale to the general public. Fans from around the world will be trying voraciously to score tickets to see the core four of Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart and Bob Weir’s final gigs in which they’ll perform with Trey Anastasio, Bruce Hornsby and Jeff Chimenti. An old-fashioned analog mail order system was recently flooded with tens of thousands of requests, with only one in 10 orders being filled. For the 90 percent who didn’t win the mail order lottery or those who didn’t try, the last hope before forking over savings to ticket brokers is Saturday’s on sale. If you don’t want to stuck with your finger in the air searching for a miracle, we’ve laid out below all you need to know about Fare Thee Well tickets going on sale Saturday.

Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. ET, 10 a.m. CT, 9 a.m. MT and 8 a.m. PT on Saturday morning.

What about special ticket or travel packages for out-of-towners?
CID Entertainment is offering two ticket and several travel package options that go on sale Friday, February 27 at 10 a.m. CT. UPDATE 2/27 8 a.m.: While CID’s site has been slow to load, here’s the direct link for travel packages. Ticket packages are available here.
Was there a pre-sale?
Yes. Beginning Wednesday, Chicago Bears club seat season ticket holders were able to purchase a limited amount of tickets ahead of the general public in accordance with the Bears’ Right Of First Refusal program.
When was the last time the Grateful Dead played together?
The final Grateful Dead concert was held at Soldier Field July 9, 1995, nearly 20 years ago to the day.

It will have been nearly six years to the day when Billy, Bobby, Mickey and Phil took the stage together as The Dead at the second-ever Rothbury Music Festival in Michigan on July 4, 2009.
