We’d like to send our best wishes for a speedy recovery to longtime The Rolling Stones collaborator Bobby Keys, who has taken a leave from his role in the band. The saxophonist is “a bit under the weather” according to The Stones, which explains why Karl Denson has been recruited to tour with the group on their upcoming run of shows in Australia and New Zealand.

Denson took to his Facebook page to share, “While we celebrate my good fortune, let’s also pray for Bobby Keys quick recovery. I’ve been studying his playing since I was 19 or 20 years old. He is what I call the original ” slow hand” saxophonist. Sometimes less IS more. Get well soon Bobby…” The Stones’ message on Keys reads, “Due to being a bit under the weather, Bobby Keys will not be joining the Stones for the Australian and New Zealand tour dates. Bobby is under doctor’s orders to take it a bit easy for the next month and hopes to see everyone soon.”

The Rolling Stones kick off the upcoming leg of their tour on October 25.
