This morning, radio host Howard Stern finally crossed Neil Young off his interview bucket list when the legendary rocker made his first-ever visit appearance on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show. Young sat for an extensive interview that hit upon dozens of topics.

The interview started with Howard asking Neil about how he started playing guitar and writing songs. Young then discussed how he doesn’t get too attached to any one band. The pair moved on to a chat about Neil’s family life and childhood. The conversation than hit upon the rocker’s songwriting process and Young’s time performing with Rick James. When Howard brought up Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, it was clear Neil still has issues with David Crosby and reiterated he would never perform with CSNY again. Other topics hit upon were Woodstock, Neil’s new book, the PONO Music Service, ISIS, environmental issues and Young’s relationship with Daryl Hannah. Howard was in fine form and was very reverential to his guest, who didn’t hold anything back.

For those that missed the interview, The Stern Show has shared highlights:
