Mike Gordon Guests With Dumpstaphunk In Denver

Tonight, Phish kicks off a three-night stand at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO. The action started early for one member of the band as bassist Mike Gordon sat in with Dumpstaphunk last night at Cervante’s Masterpiece in Denver.

Gordon wasn’t the only guest with the New Orleans funksters last night as The Motet horns and keyboardist Joey Porter were also among the musicians who sat in with Dumpstaphunk. For his part, Mike’s contributions included an appearance on a cover of The Meters’ “The World Is A Little Bit Under The Weather.” The show was streamed live via Phoncert and a replay is still available on the site.

Another Mike Gordon/Dumpstaphunk summit took place in Denver back in 2011, when four members of Dumpstaphunk sat in with Mike Gordon’s five-piece at The Ogden Theater. Watch video from that March 14, 2011 performance:
