Drive-By Truckers Share ‘What It Means’ Official Lyric Video

Veteran rock band Drive-By Truckers are set to issue a new studio album American Band on September 30 through ATO Records. The group celebrating 20 years together this year has shared an official lyric video for the album track “What It Means.”

Frontman Patterson Hood, guitarist Mike Cooley, multi-instrumentalist Jay Gonzalez, drummer Brad Morgan and bassist Matt Patton got together with longtime producer David Barbe at the famed Sound Emporium in Nashville to record American Band in late 2015. It includes 11 new tracks, including the previously shared lead single “Surrender Under Protest.”

DBT will team with Yonder Mountain String Band and Preservation Hall Jazz Band on Saturday, August 20 for a show at Red Rocks near Denver marking the start of their Darkened Flags 2016 Tour in support of the record. Hood & Co. will also appear at a number of headlining shows later this fall, including two-nights at Portland’s Wonder Ballroom, San Francisco’s The Fillmore and Los Angeles’ Teragram Ballroom.
