Nightrain - a Colorado-based Tribute to Guns N' Roses
Nightrain formed in 2010 by a collaboration of musicians from the Boulder-based bands the Holden Young Trio, Hot Soup, Jet Edison & Lunar Fire. With Jon Sousa being featured on guitar, a lifetime of precision practice in Celtic and Classical music has allowed him to destroy the parts created by epic-guitar legend Slash. You'll be amazed at the replication of sounds from the Slash leads and solos. While Jon is ripping the guitar parts, Holden Young has stepped out to rasp and gargle through the vocals of Axel Rose, "I always loved their music since I first heard them when I was 12. This is the first time I've tried to replicate Axel but his voice is still clearly stuck in my head and its been a blast re-learning this stuff."
Drummer Alex Johnson and keyboardist Phil Johnson are paired as the Brother's-from-other-mothers rhythm section being led by Hot Soup & HY3 bassist Adrian Engfer. A group that was put together for the fun of it shows in the steady rhythm section work these three create. Not to mention the attention to detail on Duff's hair and accessory choice.
Join them all-around Colorado this Winter during a tour on President's Day weekend February 17th - 20th. "I think its a pretty American thing to do," says Holden of the holiday tour. "We just want to have fun outside of our original projects and we can't wait to show you what we've done with some classic hard-rockin' GNR this Winter 2010-2011!"
