First Official Tour 2007 Confirmation

The official word came down on the Canadian dates from band management today. Here's the detail from their newsletter:

Tony Iommi
Putting to bed the longstanding rumours of a reunion tour, Heaven and Hell have announced their first tour dates for 2007. The tour will feature 11 Canadian shows, along with an exciting one-night-only performance at one of the most prestigious venues in the world, New York's Radio City Music Hall. Heaven and Hell reunites Tony Iommi with Ronnie James Dio, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice for the first time in 15 years.

Currently there are 12 scheduled stops, starting on March 11 in Vancouver and ending on March 30 in New York City. The 'Heaven And Hell' world tour will continue until the end of the year with shows in the U.S., Asia and Europe. Additional dates will be announced shortly.

Multi-platinum recording artist Megadeth will be joining the tour, and previewing never before heard material from their upcoming release on Roadrunner Records, United Abominations. The tour also brings the return of Down, featuring Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown from Pantera, as well as Pepper Keenan of COC. This will undisputedly be the most anticipated rock tour of 2007. The heavy metal icons are also scheduled to release a new anthology entitled Black Sabbath: The Dio Years. Anticipated release date is April 3, 2007 on Rhino/Warner Bros. Records.

Here are the confirmed tour dates:
03.11 | Pacific Coliseum | Vancouver, BC
03.13 | Rexall Place | Edmonton, AB
03.14 | Saddledome | Calgary, AB
03.16 | Brandt Centre | Regina, SK
03.18 | MTS Centre | Winnipeg, MB
03.20 | Steelback Centre Sault Ste. | Marie, ON
03.22 | Air Canada Centre | Toronto, ON
03.24 | John Labatt Centre | London, ON
03.26 | Bell Centre | Montreal, QC
03.27 | Colisee Pepsi Arena | Quebec City, QC
03.28 | Ottawa Civic Centre | Ottawa, ON
03.30 | Radio City Music Hall | New York, NY

The camp also released ticket pre-sale information, here are those details:

As we said in our mailout last week, we will be running a presale facility for fans of Tony and Heaven & Hell. The presale will start on Wednesday, 24th January 2007 at 12 noon EST (which is 5pm UK time), two days before the tickets go on general sale. To access the presale site go to:

You will need to register for the site to purchase tickets. Tickets are limited to 6 per person. Please note that this presale is for fans of all four members of Heaven & Hell, not just members, so we're expecting considerable demand for the tickets, particularly for the New York show, and can't guarantee that everyone will be successful. Good luck!

I think it's interesting that their touring with Dio as their singer this time around. I didn't think anybody actually liked Sabbath after Ozzy left.

You're a bunch of nay-sayers...Waaaaaa! no Ozzy?
Ronnie James Dio is the f--cking man! Yeah, maybe they were not as popular after Ozzy left, but they still rocked! Ozzy is getting too old, besides the first amazing Ozzfest in '97, Ozzy sounded weaker and weaker each time around. They practically had to change the key of every Sabbath song! New old Sabbath Bloody Sabbath!!!

Ozzy is done. He's been done. He's actually been dead for 5 years but Sharon keeps rolling his stuffed ass out there. I'm sure the rest of the guys would rather tour with talent this late in their careers. They don't need Ozzy for the paycheck.

Don't ever speak ill of Ronnie James Dio.

But, but, but they are not a jamband, why are we discussing them!! You are all just a bunch of rednecks or some shit like that. What about Trey, the article does not mention Trey or the Biscuits. Worst peice of shit article ever. (Sarcasm off!) Sorry, it just did not seem like a jambase forum without it.

Ozzy claims a Black Sabbath tour is in the works as well. Presumably why they are not touring as Sabbath. We can only hope. Bring on the US dates for Heavan and Hell and then Sabbath! After seeing both then we can duke it out over who was better. One thing for sure if Geezer and Iommi are playing together it won't really matter who sings, Sabbath kills it.

To anybody that doesn't think Black Sabbath is not a "Jamband",I recommend the following: Go on to DB.etree, and do a trade with someone that has a Sabbath show. Some of the especially 1973-77 shows are very improvisational--Long,long Jams,Lots of extended versions of songs, etc.

Hm, I guess I should be bashing Jambase for having an article on Sabbathd...but I'm not. They are legit. Some of their old stuff is incredible - and they do jam. I don't know if they can still hold their own, but I can say that they are Jambase worthy.

Saw Black Sabbath with Ozzy, Bill, Tony, & Geezer (from 6th row center). *AND a vocalist and also a keyboardist* behind the curtain. The vocalist WAS needed to help Ozzy. Still a good show. Dios voice is in good shape still.

Road To Shambala

Sabbath- Original Jam Band

Bill Ward opted out of this show and will only do a full Sabbath reunion tour/album.

Ozzy is done, its a shame it was "real drugs" that did him in mentally not the recreational ones. Thanks Zoloft. A full Sabbath reunion circa 85 would have been the shit.

I liked the Dio years almost as much as the original lineup. Looks like these guys did not DIE YOUNG.
See you in T.O.

r u kidding? not a jamband...go listen to live at last...and various other early/mid 70s recordings...where do you think wolfmother, deadmeadow, (and several other bands less obviously like my morning jacket, and even our beloved mother hips) cop those blues/headbanger riffs? yes, poor man's zeppelin, but classic riff rock...something that makes the world a better place (plus you gotta love that everyone thinks they are satanic...haven't they ever listened to children of the grave? "tell the world that love is still alive you must be brave...or you children of the world are children of the grave" Bring on the industrial euro blues jam!

I saw Sabbath several times in the 70's. The music was always great. Sometimes Ozzy would blow you away, other times he was just blown away! That man could make Tony Montana blush with the amount of cocaine he could do. Ozzy would manically pace from one end of the stage to the other, occasionally diappearing stage left and returning with powder covering his face. The only words that he could form for the next 10-15 minutes seemed to be "I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU ALL!!" This, my friends, is when Sabbath became a jam band. They had no choice, but to continue playing until Ozzy quit grinding his teeth and could sing again. Wow...Ozzy was a beast! Horribly reduced to a comic book character in his latter years. SAD!!!
