What was the real reason Charlie was fired from Particle?

K23 and Hitchcock! The Alfred Howard and the K23 are one of the most unique and talented groups out there today. Alfred Howard's lyrics are sick and the K23 is funky as hell.

Hope to see these guys finally back at High Sierra, 10KLF and Wakarusa!

ive heard that charlie left because of musical differences? im interpreting this as he did not want to add vocals to the band, where the rest of the band favored adding vocals. either way, go charlie, keep shredding.

K23 has already been playing with another guitarist (Ian - I think he is a San Diego guy) that played a ripping set at the HOB when they openend for the Disco Biscuits.

Most people I spoke with there new of the change and were pretty excited to hear the different sound.

Ian Wright is his name, he comes from a band called Bred n Buddha, he's a great guy and thus far has been doing a really awesome job. Plus he's 6'8" so if anyone ever tries to not pay us, they should probably think twice. Travis is the K23's original guitarist and in fact put the band together. This is al from the K23 by the way, and I wouldn't be playing music today if it weren't for Travis. We worked at a record store in PB 6 years ago and that's how this whole thing got started. It is hard to place into words why a band would let a person go after so many years. I've read a million of these articles and words and phrases like "departed" or "split on good terms" or "mutual differences" occur with such hallow and ambiguous frequency, as fans we conjure scenarios and build our own foundation of imagery as to what happened. All I can say in regards to the K23 letting go of Travis is that no one outside of our band would ever be able to see the full scope of experiences, on either side of the coin, that we had together. As a band we arived at a point and a decision to take a road which lead in a different direction. There were five great years of music and creativity and we look forward to many more great years of the same. We're also looking forward to welcoming more guest then we had in the past and really being a part of a musical community. Thanks for your time, eyes and ears.
With love

I read Hitchcock is playing 1/10 and 1/24. I wonder if he will be jamming or actually playing K23 material.

Also, just saw that Alfred Howard and the K23 are playing SoCal's largest MLK Day Breakfast Celebration in San Diego on 1/15!

"I met Trav at Music Trader in Pacific Beach where we both worked slightly north of minimum wage (The way that Washington Street is slightly north of University Ave)."

Al you are too funny. Keep it (the music & the light) up bud.

I saw Charlie playing with On the One. That was the HEAT!!! Farticle made a huge mistake letting this guy go...

No joke. I checked that show out as well and it was no joke. I am not necessarily into what on the one are doing (though they are great musicians)but Charlie KILLED it...cant wait to see him with AHK23.
