Nonesuch Records released Sunken Treasure: Live in the Pacific Northwest, a performance DVD by Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, on October 24. The disc includes performances and conversations gathered over five nights on Tweedy's February 2006 solo acoustic tour, with footage from concerts at Seattle's Moore Theater, Portland's Crystal Ballroom, Eugene's McDonald Theater, Arcata's Humboldt State University, and The Fillmore in San Francisco. The film was directed by Christoph Green and Fugazi's Brendan Canty, the creators of the documentary series Burn to Shine.

"I wanted this to feel how the tour felt to me," said filmmaker Christoph Green, "...a chaptered flow down the west coast, showing the isolated bleakness you encounter when you travel quickly from one place to another, and then contrasting that with the experience at the shows—the gathering of people and the sense of community that is created night after night.

The audio tracks of all the songs featured on the DVD also will be available for anyone who purchases Sunken Treasure to download for free. This continues Wilco's own tradition of regularly giving music to its fans via the Internet. In 2003 Wilco and Nonesuch made the More Like the Moon EP available for free download to anyone who had purchased YHF, and in 2005, they again made an EP of rare and live recordings available for free to anyone who had purchased A Ghost Is Born, the band's 2004 release.

Excellent comment "spearheadkid101" - very articulate; thanks for sharing! Anyway, Tweedy is an American treasure - go see this show from one of the great songwriters of the day.

I have never(shamefully admitting) never herd any Wilco or Tweedy solo stuff. I actually thinking of buying a ticket to the solo Bijou getting baked and having a couple pints before going and having that as my first introduction to Tweedy's music. Too long have I wanted to experience Wilco in some fashion and none better than live.

spearhead kid...isn't the tweedy bird like hippie enough to like lose your inhibitions on the world and make peace through music while strengthening the weak bond that holds our hippie society together? oh wait that's exactly what jeff is about, and i'm sure if you actually listened to it you would find that he holds something near and dear that a lot of your "jams" don't have, the key to songwriting. which is what started music...but yeah zeppelin, dylan, and the band all suck as well.

The GPAC is a shithole. It's full of old people with season tickets who have no idea of what they're seeing and just take up space with their fingers in their assholes. Jeff Tweedy and Wilco do NOT suck.

Do not know if my last comment posted or not, so here is an attempt to re do it... Have seen Wilco and Jeff many times. Never left a show disapointed. Went to his solo show at the Crystal last year and met him outside the venue before the show (despite what people say, he is a very chill guy). If you have the chance, go see him. In my biased opinion, one of the best singer songwriters out today. Be warned though, DO NOT talk during his show. He WILL call you out!!

I think Tweedy is sick of peps getting wasted and talking. c ya there.

Jeff Tweedy is freekin' genius. Wilco is a great band. If you aren't familiar with Wilco start with "Summerteeth" and listen to the whole album. The best part of the album IMHO is the second half. Go see Wilco! Go see Tweedy!

if spearhead knew anything about good songwriting or good music period then his opinion would mean just chalk it up to lunacy or idiocy.yake your pick.
