Each holiday season Conscious Alliance delivers frozen turkeys to families of impoverished Indian Reservations in Montana and South Dakota. Last year alone, thanks to the holiday generosity of music fans across the country, Conscious Alliance contributed several hundred dinners to the Pine Ridge and Northern Cheyenne Reservations, as well as an additional 700 turkeys to the Houma Reservation.

This year, with 700 turkeys already delivered to the Pine Ridge Reservation and the Northern Cheyenne Reservation, Conscious Alliance is rapidly approaching the their goal to deliver more than 2000 turkeys to families in need on both these Reservations. In addition to the Rebel Alliance benefit event, the 2006 Turkey Drive is a national internet fundraising campaign supported by bands and their management, and by music fans, throughout the country, who can donate by visiting

A donation of $10 will provide one frozen turkey to a family in need this holiday season. A donation of $25 or more will provide a complete holiday dinner package (including one frozen turkey and all the usual holiday fixings) to a family in need this holiday season. All donations are tax-deductible.

In addition to their annual Turkey Drive, Conscious Alliance is gearing up for their 4th Annual Holiday Toy Drive. For the past three years, the organization has brought toys to the U.S. Indian Reservations in need. At the upcoming Rebel Alliance Jam Benefit Concert at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado, all patrons who donate one toy (of at least a $10.00 value) will receive a limited edition poster by Conscious Alliance artist Robert Marx ( In addition to collecting toys at the Rebel Alliance Jam, the toy drive is being hosted at various concerts and businesses throughout Boulder County, as well as at various Junior High and High Schools from Southern California to Connecticut. Visit to find out how to get involved.

Look for Conscious Alliance hosting food drives at New Year's Eve events from coast to coast, including The String Cheese Incident's Sea of Dreams event in San Francisco, STS9 (Sound Tribe Sector Nine) in Atlanta, and Yonder Mountain String Band in Denver. At each of these events, 10 non-perishable food items, or a $10.00 donation, can be exchanged for one free concert poster. Please visit for more details about participating artists and the food banks these drives will benefit.

Since its inception three years ago, Boulder-based not-for-profit Conscious Alliance has collected and donated over 300,000 lbs. of food to local U.S. food banks and to U.S. Indian Reservations.

Great lineup and great cause. Wish I was back in Colorado. Does anyone know the deal with Jans Ingber? I don't think he's with the Motet anymore; he definitely wasn't at the Charlotte show a few weeks ago.

Thats possibly the best guitar player, best keyboardist and best (only) hammered dulcimerist in the "jam scene" playing together.

And i'll be stuck in Chicago. Fareed, if youre reading this, please bring the Rebel Alliance to your home state. I'll make the trip up to DeKalb from Urbana if i have to. Not a problem.
