SEA OF DREAMS
"7 HEAVENS"
A NEW YEAR'S EVE REVOLUTION

CONCOURSE EXHIBITION CENTER
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA
DECEMBER 30th and 31st, 2006

EARLY BIRD TICKETS ON SALE OCTOBER 5, 2006

The String Cheese Incident
After a hugely successful inaugural event last year, Madison House, Anon Salon, and Peak Experience Productions will collaborate again for the Seventh Annual Sea of Dreams New Year's Eve event in San Francisco on December 30th and 31st.

Like last year, cultural forces will unite for two freaky nights at the San Francisco's Concourse Exhibition Center for the biggest New Year's-weekend gathering on the west coast. Expect three stages hosting an incredible roster of live bands - plus cabaret and circus acts, DJs and dance collectives, performance troupes, and more. All set within multiple thematic environments, this event promises something for people of every tribe.

Musical acts performing on the three stages include the groundbreaking independent rock band The String Cheese Incident (playing two full sets each night), British nu-school breaks producer Tipper, revolutionary underground artist Bassnectar, modern day traveling minstrel DJ Mark Farina, the down-tempo trip-hop dance music of Lotus, live electronic hipsters Pnuma Trio and plenty of others still to be announced.

Performance troupe and dance collective participants include The Indigo Belly Dance, The Mystic Family Circus, Black and Blue Burlesque Anon Salon's Circularious, and others. In addition to the stage performances, expect art encampments, novelty zones, installations, midnight spectacles, supergames, and everything. For complete line-up and details as they become available visit www.seaofdreamsnye.com.

Propelling the proceedings will be innovative entertainment booking and management company Madison House, and Portland, Oregon-based Peak Experience Productions. Both will join forces with long-time San Francisco art/event promoters Anon Salon (the co-creators of "Burning Man Decompression" and past "Sea of Dreams" NYE events).

Sea of Dreams is an epic costumed celebration of music, art and community. This colossal pageant weaves together a host of artistic communities to create a truly "emergent" cultural phenomenon. In the most unusual venue, with the most multi-faceted and unprecedented line-up ever, Sea of Dreams has altered the course of party history.

This looks like a whole lot of fun, wish I had some extra cash to make this happen. I mean SCI, Lotus, Pnuma, Bassnecter, that would almost be more than I could handle in two days. On the bright side I get two night of Lotus at the Fox this weekend so I have nothing to bitch about. Anyone who is going is a lucky soul in my book.

I can't speak for anyone, but it seems like they were using the term "queer" in a positive manner, like they were using the term "freaks".

I sure hope the420cloud was refering to the cops as the reignin "pigs" not the festival goers at high sierra. Just a little clarity please? Otherwise you can FOAD cause your just as beat as the bigots. If you think the HSMF attendees are gay bashing pigs, you must have a hard time funcitioning in this society, which really is full of bigots.

Looks like a great time.

I hope it rains inside at sea of dreams again this year. i also hope some wooky punches a cop in the face at the Zilla pre party again and gets every cop in the bay area at the venue. I do not however want to hear the words "String Cheese Radioactive San Fransisco two thousand and 7". Go to Sea of Dreams if you can. It's gonna be nasty.

Anyone going to Ashville? Where's a good place to camp? We found a few parks, etc. but we were looking for a show friendly place where coming in late wouldn't be a problem. Any ideas?

i guess i just can't get into the sting cheese and i emphasize cheese. i think jon fishman said it best when he called them the star bucks of jambands, that they shape to their fans, not have their fans shape to them. their vocals are annoying and they try too hard to sound like Phish. like i said, it should be a pretty gay time. peace.

Hey Cliffhanger420 - If it's so gay, why do you even come back here to stir shit? Keep hangin' ... keep waitin' bud. Lets remember that our favorite band of all time quit and I'm pretty damn sure it had a lot to do with all the negative comments coming from people like you. Keep your negetivity to yourself and let people enjoy what they enjoy.

You can always tell who the redneck ass Panic fans are. They'll get on a Cheese message board just to say how bad Cheese sucks. Well you can all ride your little "Love Tractor" and go on somewhere. But Remember Cheesus still loves you.

I would Be there , But instead I will be attending Camp Jam 07 in Florida, Any jamcruisers on the way down should check out this event. String cheese is by far one of the best around at what they do and Anyone who can't deal with that needs to keep their negative ass comments to themselves. Peace, Jeff

I would just like to say that I think everyone seems to be forgetting what the jam/hippie scene is all about. Isn't it about peace, and love, and unity, and acceptance. I agree with the fact that some people may not like SCI, and to each their own. But why does that mean that we all have to divide into these little groups of people who "love phish-hate cheese" or "love cheese, hate panic". I, for one, enjoy the music of almost every jammy out there and feel very very sorry for all of you that think that just because you like a band so much, that you have to hate another. And FYI to those who say cheese is accomadating to thier fans, most of cheese fans enjoy the older stuff that has the blugrass jam feel to it as opposed to the electronic stuff of new. So keep your opinions to yourself. Like your mom always used to say..."If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." PEACE

Welcome to West Coastville!!! Where the High Sierra and the Gay Rainbows come together in ceremony and true freakdom!

HOT DAMN I am very fortunate to be out here already.

I went last year and it was THEE party. I would prefer to focus on one band for the night, but cant deny the cyber hippy connection that grows at this party. I love most of SCis tunes, when they werent doing it for me i would take a walk around. One of the most adventurous events Ive ever attended. This year I think there will be more dialed in and smoothed out...sound for example. Also, if you plan on going on the 31st, altho its a big venue it still gets super crowded and I got lost at Sea. hahaha

Aint nothin like an San francisco NYE....Im proud to be a part of this open minded community out here. Summer for me is all about The High Sierra....and the winter is all about SF on NYE. Its like what the Grateful Dead started for us and this is most definitely the celebration of THE FUTURE. Cant think of a better way to bring it in (OK, I can, add more bluegrass with that funk!)

For all the haters, its a shame that you make the community smell so freakin bad. take a fuggin bath already.

STOKED

right on alcsidd17, why does everyone just listen to one jamband & just rip on the rest. there's a lot of bands out there i wouldn't pay to see that, but that doesn't mean others aren't havin a great time at. i guess its a gay band cuz it doesn't have all the frat guys goin to the shows so they can smoke weed & bob their heads. that being said, i saw wsp at merriweather this summer and was blown away.

cheese is my fav band out there right now, tho i do miss more of the old school bluegrass. the best scene around, hands down. wish i could go to see of dreams, but can't wait til 2 nights at the warner.

I just went to my 5th SCI show in Ann Arbor - and it was the best show I've seen. I've seen them at JazzFest, Big Summer classic and Vegoose. Never a huge fan - but they won me over last night. Long spacey, semi-electronica elements mixed in with the bluegrass core.

Not sure what all the "gay" comments are about. I'm not gay - have no problem with "gays" and was too busy dancing to focus on anything other than the music... Some of you folks have to lighten up.
