THE MUSIC OF BOB DYLAN

Patti Smith, Phil Lesh, Philip Glass, Rosanne Cash, Cat Power, Lee Renaldo Project, Medeski Martin & Wood, Natalie Merchant, Warren Haynes & Gov't Mule, Al Kooper & The Funky Faculty and Chris & Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes are all confirmed to play The Music of Bob Dylan (one cover each) at Avery Fisher Hall (Lincoln Center) in NYC on November 9, 2006. It's a benefit for the Music for Youth Foundation produced by Michael Dorf who also did the Joni Mitchell tribute show at Carnegie Hall.

The Music for Youth Foundation (MFY) is a community of concerned members of the music industry, corporate sponsors and the general public who are alarmed at the disappearance of music programs in the public schools, and who recognize the important role music plays in each student’s development. Find out more about MFY’s goals, history and achievements through our grant program. Find out how you can make a difference and “give music back” by joining us in our efforts at the Music for Youth Foundation.

Can't think of anyone more deserving of a tribute than Bob Dylan. I know there have been more than one, but everyone is well deserved.

A lot of interesting music contributions recently. The scene is indeed alive and it's heard is going, BUMP BUMP BANG with a little bow-chicka-bow. you feel it right?

I am so glad this is happening in the greatest city in the world, his city, NYC, and at one of the best sounding venues of anywhere in the world. Very nice and hope Bob enjoys the evening and makes an appearance or two himself!
