On Saturday, February 3, KPFA will hold their Grateful Dead Marathon from 9:00 am until 1:00 am, PST. It will be broadcast live on KPFA 94.1 in Berkeley and KFCF 88.1 in Fresno, and webcast globally via DeadNet, with help from jamradio.com and Sonic Focus.
This show will feature 16 hours of great Grateful Dead music, almost all of it previously unreleased. The marathon will include several complete shows from various stages in the Dead's career, plus dozens of shorter segments highlighting the unique brilliance of the Grateful Dead as songwriters and improvisers.
In the early evening, special guest, Ned Lagin ("Seastones") will
stop by with some tapes that no one has heard since they were recorded in the spring of 1975, featuring Jerry Garcia, David Crosby and others. More surprises are also in store...
