TOM PETTY'S NEW SOLO ALBUM

On July 25th, Warner Brothers Records will release Tom Petty’s new solo album, Highway Companion. This release, Petty’s third solo album, was produced by Jeff Lynne with Tom Petty and Mike Campbell and will happen in the middle of the 2006 North American “Highway Companions Tour” with Trey Anastasio, Pearl Jam, The Allman Brothers and The Derek Trucks Band.

Over the past thirty years, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers have sold more than 50 million records and been nominated for 16 Grammy Awards. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002, the first year they were eligible, and this past December, Green Day's Billy Joe Armstrong presented Petty with the Billboard Century Award at the Billboard Music Awards saying, "If you're going to come up and thank god, thank god for Tom Petty." In this 2006 season, Petty reprises his ongoing role as "Lucky" on the long-running Fox animated TV series "King of the Hill," and he is in the middle of the second season of his critically acclaimed XM Satellite Radio Show, "Tom Petty's Buried Treasure."

Tom always come through with a stellar album, and I'm sure this won't be any different. He is pure rock n roll, no doubt about it, he's rock royalty.

it took me a long time to 'get' tom petty. i guess i just dismissed him as another mainstream radio act for alot of years. i have come to like his stuff alot in recent years - even most of the hits, but i have never seen him live. i admit i am supprised to see him playing to this audience or covered on this website at all. i assume he puts on a more than solid 'good old fashoned rock show' and i would like to see him some time for shure but a jam band preformance is a whole different kind of thing. i guess what im saying is that good music is good music and all but i am supprised to see an apple in my orange bin. i admit i am glad to see the fat cats supporting jambase lately.

I have been listining to Tom for a long time and know most of his music. I'am sure the people who want to discredit him have not. I would suggest you open your mind before you open your mouth (Is'nt that the whole Jamatude). He dosnt have to distract from his music with gimics to get your attention his playing does that for him. Why is it that because he is succsesful he gets slamed for it. isnt that what every artist wants or I'm I imaginging things long live Gambo!!!!

although i know little of toms' uninteresting music, or lame antics, i do know of the stellar musiciansship he brings to everything he does. If this disc is a 1 percent as good as wildflowers, i will be a happpy man

For you out there dissing TP and HeartBreakers you simply do not know what you are talking about.... They are a great live band and One Of The BEST American bands in history.... A mix of Dylan, Byrds, Beatles can not do wrong... his stuff is on top... learn to appreciate it!!!
