Folk, bluegrass, old-time, zydeco, blues, country swing and Americana...young and old, upcoming and established. Packed with soul and grit and currently at the nexus of an underground scene that has quickly garnished national recognition.
The lineup for 2006 is as exciting and eclectic as ever with performances from the following: Iris Dement, Kelly Joe Phelps, Greg Brown, The Wood Brothers, Darol Anger, CJ Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band, The Avett Brothers, Martha Scanlan, Danny Barnes Collective, The Wailin' Jennys, Kris Delmhorst, The Wilders, The Everybodyfields, The Earl Brothers, Stairwell Sisters, Juanita Family Band, Asleigh Flynn, Trash Can Joe, Packway Handle Band...and yes, the World Famous Friday Night Square Dance.....Promenade!!!
2006 finds Pickathon at yet another awe-inspiring site, just 20 minutes from downtown Portland, on the back side of Mt. Scott with views of Mt. Hood. Pendarvis Farm provides festival goers with ample opportunity to enjoy two incredible days and nights of music, camping, workshops, jams, children's activities....and everything else that will help make for an inspiring mix with promised long days and late nights.
The Pickathon traces its genesis to Portland's diverse roots music scene, and a portion of the festival proceeds donated directly to KBOO to help reinforce the bond between local music and community radio within this rich, diverse and widely supported movement.
