Indie songsmith M. Ward has finished the recording of the follow-up to Transistor Radio. It's called Post-War and will be available at the end of August on Merge.
While there are few details available at this time it is clear that the new album will explore life during war in the modern age; something we all live with whether you choose to realize it or not.
This will be Ward's first "full band" release. The band he has drafted includes, Rachel Blumberg (formerly of the Decemberists) and Jordan Hudson (formerly of the Thermals), who toured with Ward over the past year and a half. Multi-instrumentalist Mike Coykendall, singer Neko Case and My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James also appear on Post-War.
