Blu Sirkut - Members of "KDTU" Tour West Coast This Summer!
 Blu Sirkut |
Breaking ranks from Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Brian Jordan (guitar/bass/baritone guitar), Chris Littlefield (trumpet/effects/laptop), David Veith (keys), John Staton (drums) and Alton Parker (visuals) have joined forces in a fresh new group with a look and sound that is all their own. Not just a side project, but a focus and new direction for these musicians. This is Blu Sirkut!
Flavored with a hint of Jazzanova and a
dash of Thievery
Corporation Blu Sirkut infuses funk, jazz and soul with breaks-beats, drum-n-bass,
and world music samples to form it's unique blend of "electronica." Conceived
originally as a studio collaboration, the band has always sought to incorporate technology in most aspects of the creative process. Armed with laptops, samplers, and video projectors, Blu Sirkut takes to the stage providing a live musical and full visual
experience. Trumpet player Chris Littlefield explained, "Blu Sirkut for me is more than a collaboration, it's a choice. It's not a side project, it's 'THE PROJECT.'" I couldn't help but be in a band like this!
With a diverse range of talent and collective experience, the members of this five
man group have performed in a variety of venues around the world. From the
Blue Note in
Tokyo, to Madison Square
Garden in New York, to the Burning Man art
festival in the Nevada desert these guys have covered a lot of ground.
Whether at home or away, in the studio or on stage, from conception to fruition
and always with their finger on the pulse of what the people really want. Blu
Sirkut's sole intent is to make free flowing dance music to move you!
