No way, seen both of them already , and will be visiting the ATL, to witness once again. cant f*ckin wait. Volta better play longer than hour and half. and Eria Tarka and Frances the Mute better be in the setlist.

Everyone I know who has seen the Chilli Peppers (myself included) will tell you....... save your money. If you REALLY REALLY REALLY have to see the Mars Volta, then I understand, but DO NOT go thinking the Chilli Peppers are going to be any good.

I've seen the Volta and it was excellent! I haven't seen the peppers but I think it would be a good show. Everyone is having such negativity about this, why? It's two great bands!

I've been to this show already. It was in May 2003 when The Mars Volta opened for Queens Of The Stone Age who then opened for the Chilis. It was at Continental Arena and the sound sucked so I couldn't even make out what TMV were playing, but the QOTSA were decent and Chilis were alright. It was also before "De-loused" even came out so I really had no idea what songs were even being played. I would really like to see TMV in their own enviroment on stage to get the full effect of their live show. The show was still pretty intense even though the sound was horrible. 6.5/10 show.. if the tickets are over 40 bucks (which I know they will be) save your money for something worth while like the Double Duo opening for Phil. peace

This seems like such an odd pairing from every angle - commercially, musically, fanbase-wise, etc. It's a bit like Pearl Jam booking so many different indie acts lately. The music may be worlds apart but it's nice when the established arena act gives the nod to an up-and-comer. Still this one seems especially odd to me.

snappy, your not the brightest person and i wonder why you would even post. for one, mars volta have already opened for RHCP back in 03. secondly, flea played bass on there cd deloused in the comatorium. thirdly, john fruisiante played guitar in one song and flea added trumpet to the mars volta cd frances the mute. and lastly, john fruisiante is having a signifigant role with guitars in the upcoming mars volta cd. RHCP are clearly fans of there music and respect how they dominate in every catagory. why wouldnt they tour together?

dude, i don't know why everybody gets sooo hyped up when the chili peppers are mentioned. they haven't put out a good album since 1992's blood sugar sex magic. ever since after that album was released their music is bland, stale, and pretentious. mars volta are amazing. the peppers should be openeing up for them and having to kiss their feet onstage before playing.

Hey, you. Yeah, you. The guy or gal about to write a bad comment for no reason at all. Take your mouse, scroll to "home" on your browser, and get out of here. You don't have to waste your time over here. Us fans would really like to just chat about what's coming up for a band/s we like. We didn't ask you to like them, but we do. So, please leave. Thanks.

man, negativity is so weak. you cats have no idea about what you are talking about. this ain't some random pairing.
TMV and Frusciante worked together on his solo albums.
Next, these cats have sick musicianship (i have seen them several times, even with Navarro- and that was great too).
If you think Flea is boring in concert, that is funny. They put on a great live show and they jam alot of their tunes out. How many bands go to saskatoon?

snappy: it makes sense to pair them up; john frusciante of rhcp played with the mars volta a bit on Deloused, and he has played in concert with them before. I am psyched for this.

For a genre of music that is out there and in the open just let it go all you negative people. Be kind and open to other folks music and and whole music scene associated with jambase. A high percentage of these comments seem to be negative so why waste your time writing them? Its sad to see such a great website and music scene drowned out by foolish thoughts. Your embarassing yourself and me. Think about what your favorite musicians would say if you sat around withthem talking shit about every band that didn't click with yourself......c'mon lets get together on this people the world is a harsh enough place as is....peace

Hell yeah positive people. So now that the neg-heads seem to be gone, I gots a question. Why no LA date for the Chili's? You think they will add one or maybe just test out their material in LA at a club before they take it on the road?

Just for the record. There is a huge difference between a negative comment and a peer review. For someone to just get on here and bash a band is one thing. It's quite another for someone who has a valid (experience based) opinnion to help unknowing individuals make a conscious decision on how to spend their money.

you should all boycott the chili peppers. they are all online whining about how their album is being leaked. flea is begging with all of the fans not to download it and to use their "conscience". i think this is pure greed on the part of this band becasue they all have nice houses, nice cars, and a luxious lifestyle and they are being sooo greedy. i encourage all of you not to buy their new album and if you really want it, you should go download it for free on a file sharing services. i can't stand when artists make over seven figures in thier yearly salaires and complain about downloading. not cool at all. sorry flea, but you're gonna have to settle for a plain masarati and not a turbo one you baby!

Ya RHCP are fucking bullshit. In boston they are playing the TD Bank North/Fleet Center which is the lamest venue to play in boston. And they have the balls to charge $60 for tickets from the floor to the worst seats in the venue... I was going to pay to see mars volta but after joining the RHCP fan club I still got shit seats, so fuck that. I dont get it, the mars volta are good friends with flea and the band, but it seems like they are so much more concious than to bitch about the whole MP3 album leaking thing, but what do i know

All of you Pepper hating people out there need to just chill for a moment on the bashing for ticket prices and piracy. Your right they do have those nice houses and nice cars, but they also busted their asses off to achieve the things they have. And I don't care who you are or what the object is, stealing is stealing. If someone asks you not to take something they possess, and you go on to take it, then yes you are a theif. That is what the peppers are doing. Besides, the cost of them doing what they do is very expensive (your crazy if you think Rick Rubin just waltz's into studios for chump change). In addition, even Jerry Garcia charged admissions for his tickets, and I don't think anyone could have the audacity to call Jerry selfish.

i saw the chili peppers/queens/mars volta show in moline a few years back...and let me tell you..halfway through tmv's setlist i went outside to enjoy the silence and discuss with others how horrible it sounded. chili's ended up rocking.. a few years later i started to hear more about the mars volta and i do enjoy their album, but still that show goes down as one of the worst shows i have ever seen.. i guess it was bad sound or something but it was DEFINETELY bad something.
