The Mutaytor
The Mutaytor is ready to take the country by storm. The band has been described as one part Blue Man Group and one part Cirque Du Soleil, mixed with the culture and tribal drumming of the Burning Man festival. The group has grown even larger in recent months, adding a horn section and dazzling audiences with more pyrotechnics and aerial displays in their ever-changing live show. Recently, the band was a huge highlight on the Xingolati Groove Cruise. They have also been performing at Los Angeles Kings games and signed a sponsorship deal with NC Soft Video Games. And speaking of video games, the band will also be a featured act at this year's E3 Convention.

The band will kick off 2006 with four high profile shows, starting on February 11th at The Fillmore in San Francisco with local DJ favorite Motion Potion, pioneering vocal percussionist and beat boxer Andrew Chaikin, a.k.a. Kid Beyond, and with solo-bass virtuoso That 1 Guy supporting. The band is excited to share their updated sound with the faithful San Francisco audience and throw down two long sets of music.

February 13th the band will play at the House of Blues in Las Vegas during the opening night of the annual Pollstar Conference. The band will play two big sets (tickets are free to all Pollstar/CIC Badge holders). Kid Beyond supports and the show will also feature local DJ Vegas Vibe. Expect theatrics and stunts in the vein of Las Vegas at this show.

March 10th the band will return to its hometown of Los Angeles for a show at The Fonda. Tabla master Karsh Kale and Banyan featuring Steve Perkins from Janes Addiction will support this show. The following week the band heads to South By Southwest in Austin, TX for an amazing showcase at Fox & Hound featuring Particle and Brazilian Girls on March 16th.

Looking into the future, this summer the band will make their inaugural performances at Wakarusa and 10,000 Lakes Festival. Stay tuned to JamBase and for more show announcements and exciting news. Prepare to get Mutayted!

The Mutaytor's demo video is sick as hell. It's like Stomp meets SCI & Peak Experience Productions...but probably better. I can't wait to see 'em at 10KLF.
