The Slip
The Slip embarks on a spring tour in March. The tour begins with The Slip headlining an 11-show, three-band bill with Apollo Sunshine (spinArt) and Sam Champion (Razor & Tie). The bands will tour through Montreal, Vermont, Upstate New York, Ohio, Chicago and Missouri. The band will then play shows at the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX. In late March they will return to Colorado for a short run of shows and then will complete the tour with a few more Midwest dates. The Colorado and Midwest dates will be announced shortly.

The Boston/Montreal trio nurtures a lucid blend of the abstract with the familiar. Coffee can guitars, tenor basses, steel pans, or 70's drum machines are as much a part of The Slip sound as the traditional bass, drums, guitar power trio. The trio's music is a new brand of mutant-pop, of instrumental finesse and imaginative songwriting that is evocative, dirty and danceable. The Slip has completed a new studio album co-produced by Matthew Ellard (Elliott Smith, Morphine), label and release date TBD. The Slip's side avante folk-rock project, Surprise Me Mr. Davis, recently released a studio EP called Only in Montreal.

We need to see some more Minnesota love with these tours. There are plenty of venues and no reason to skip over such a great community. Just show us some love people!!

uh oh, no tri state area shows. hmmmm...actually the last few shows that I have been at have been pretty short. especially at south paw in brooklyn. i will say that the shows have not lacked quality, just quantity. but in the long run, i will definitely take quality over quantity.

i simply add another plea in hopes that somebody in the slip's camp reads this. Please come to the Southeast. I would probably have to catch every show in a 300 mile radius of south carolina
