MOE. RAISES $35,000

(Utica, NY) -- The upstate NY rock band moe. performed at the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse, NY, Sunday, January 22. The concert raised $35,000 for the Kelberman Center - a comprehensive community resource for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families.

"All in all, a great turnout by everyone involved, from fans to promoters and sponsors, as well as the entire moe. organization," says moe. guitarist Al Schnier. "Thank you so much."

The evenings proceeds have brought moe.'s charitable contributions to over $200,000 in the past twelve months, including $150,000 raised for Tsunami survivors and $18,000 for Hurricane Katrina survivors. moe. plans to follow up this benefit with a charity auction on eBay next month, including autographed memorabilia, instruments, etc. from moe. and other celebrities. The band hopes to raise an additional $15,000 for the Kelberman Center. For details about the auction, stay tuned to

The Kelberman Center is a new nonprofit affiliated with Upstate Cerebral Palsy (UCP) in Utica, NY. Begun by a dedicated group of parents confronted with the challenges of raising children with autism, The Kelberman Center bears the name of a local Utica family who have been at the forefront of the initiative to ensure that all individuals within the spectrum are afforded the opportunity to develop to their full potential. The Promise Program at UCP is renowned for providing services for preschoolers within the autism spectrum. The Kelberman Center will provide support and services for children, and their families, beyond preschool.

Schnier is a parent of an autistic child and is a New Hartford resident. His daughter was a student at the Promise Program at UCP. "The Promise School is one of the leading resources for autistic preschoolers in the country. I was amazed, and grateful, to learn that one of the most highly regarded programs was right here in our community. As we learn more about autism, and as our kids grow older, we are finding that we as parents and our children need that same high quality and progressive resource beyond the Promise Program's objective. The Kelberman Center is fulfilling that need," said Schnier.

Formed in Buffalo, New York, in 1991, moe.'s tours have taken them from Woodstock '99, to New York's Central Park and to Japan. As one of the finest groups in the jamband movement, moe. is also critically acclaimed for its songwriting and studio work; the group's 2001 studio album, Dither, was awarded four stars by Rolling Stone. moe. has released ten recordings in the last 14 years: Their latest album, Wormwood, finds moe. at the top of their game - receiving four stars by Blender Magazine. moe.'s Tsunami Benefit concert at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City on February 10, 2005, raised $150,000 for Tsunami survivors. moe. hosted a charity golf tournament for Promise Program at moe.down, the band's annual festival in Turin, NY this past Labor Day. The band is currently in the studio recording a new album due in 2006.

From Neil Young's Bridge School to moe.'s support of a UCP affiliate shows music can heal and fans can contribute just by going to see top notch live music. With enough support people with autism and other developmental disabilities (and their families) can thrive. State and Federal funds are not enough so thanks Al and thanks moe.for helping fill in the gaps--with $$ and by throwin' down Happy Hour Hero>Mexico!!

It's good to see the jamband community gives back. It shows that there is more to just going to shows and seeing bands and getting wasted. We are a caring group of people that think about others in a world where so many are out to get their own.

moe. is finally climbing to the podium to claim its rightful place amongst the top jambands. SEE YOU AT THE snoe.down.

Pennavillian: I'm not into Trey that much, but I don't know what exactly you mean when you say he isn't grounded. He gave portions of every show from his last couple tours to local charities. Anyway, Moe just went up a notch in my book!

Pennavalian. Don't open your mouth about trey if u don't know what the hell u are talking about. Phish and trey alone have raised over millions of dollars for all different organizations.

Hey moephan4420 if you think that success will go to their heads then you must NOT know moe. really well at all!!
Rob, Al, Chuck, Jim & Vinny will ALL be the first to tell anyone that's not what they have been in this business as long as they have been for.
